Location: Novotel Aachen City
Hybrid event
This module provides a sound overview of the management of radioactive waste with negligible heat generation and the associated regulatory requirements. Participants learn about the key boundary conditions for transport, interim storage and final disposal, including the requirements of the KONRAD repository. In addition, suitable waste containers and packaging concepts as well as the fundamentals of product control and qualification of radioactive waste are presented. Participants also gain an insight into the set-up and structure of procedure qualifications and waste package documentation, as well as into the re-qualification of radioactive waste. The module thus conveys a comprehensive understanding of the requirements along the entire waste management route and of the necessary verification.
